Our Story

In its name Almaar represented the dream of a family run business, which would require teamwork and the careful utilization of each family member's skills. Since its inception, William chose to empower his children to learn various aspects of the business in order to succeed, from branding to warehousing.

In 2011 the core team united. The vision, aptitude and teamwork were in alignment. Almaar initially decided to start with imports into the African Market, specifically household items needed in Ghana. We quickly realized that the infrastructure and network needed in the African market was in its infancy therefore successful execution of operations would be better if focused on the US market.

By 2013, Almaar had introduced its first product to US markets - Anniversary Rice, which gained popularity among wholesalers and retailers for its price and quality in the New York Metropolitan region. Today, Almaar seeks to work with many manufacturing brands within the food and beverage industry.

Almaar’s Founder and CEO William Adjetey dreamed of one day owning a family runned Export and  Import company that he could leave as a legacy for his children and fulfill his aspirations of being an entrepreneur.

In 2004 he took the first step in registering Almaar as an enterprise. Even the use of the name Almaar reinforced his vision since each letter of Almaar represents a member of his family.

As with any dream, Almaar gained clarity as we pursued the vision and tried to answer the various questions surrounding the realization of the dream.
